Emily Ann Zisko is  a writer, filmmaker and the CFO and Literary Editor of Currant Jam magazine. Her written work has been published in the Beloit Fiction Journal, Los Angeles Review of Books and Currant Jam. She co-wrote, co-directed, produced and starred in the international mini-series Play It By Ear, which was selected at Dances With Films, HollyShorts and the Nashville Film Festival. Currently, Emily and her creative team are developing the second season of the anthology series. Prior to creating Play It By Ear, Emily wrote, co-directed, produced and starred in the short film Drama Mama. It was selected at the SENE Film Festival, Portland Comedy Film Festival, Arizona Underground Film Festival, Amsterdam Lift-Off Festival and won Best Actress at The Austin Comedy Film Festival. In 2023, Emily co-founded Currant Jam, a non-profit arts publication for emerging artists. In their first year, the organization published four magazines, all of which sold out upon release, and held a myriad of events for the independent artistic community in Los Angeles. Over the last four years, Emily has also worked as a producer on short film projects for Hulu, American Film Institute and Ways & Means Productions. Emily’s producorial credits have screened at South by Southwest, Fantastic Fest and the Palms Spring International Film Festival. Two of the projects she has produced have gone on to be optioned for a national commercial campaign (The New Nanny) and chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick (Walk Out Nice and Smooth). As a multidisciplinary artist, Emily is inspired by the feminine, sensual and surreal.
